Becks Hill is a team orientated leader with professional experiences spanning over two decades.
With a BSc in 'Nursing Studies' from the University of Brighton and a MSc in 'Public Health in Developing Countries' from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Becks brings a wealth of specialist knowledge and experience to Lepra.
Becks has a passion for health and addressing global health inequities she has initiated, managed and led small community projects through to multi-country programmes. Describing herself as having a "chequered past", she is a nurse and has been as an expedition medic in Madagascar; worked with war and mine victims in Cambodia, learnt about health protection with Public Health England, and managed vector borne disease control programmes in Syria and South Sudan.
In her most recent role as Project Director with Sightsavers, she led the implementation of a 12-country integrated NTD programme in West and Central Africa. With the onset of COVID-19, a strategic shift was required and she headed up a 11-country response programme. This became an award-winning mass media campaign reaching over 137 million people.
Outside of the office, she takes to the seas and can be found swimming most days, rain or shine throughout the year. Reportedly, Becks is a master of Connect 4 and will challenge anyone to a game.
