Sugiya headshot

Sugiya Musmaat is 80 years old and lives in the Patna district of Bihar, India.

Sugiya has been suffering from the physical effects of leprosy for decades, as she recalls the first symptom’s began when her son was a very young age.

“There are many issues I have faced during lockdown. I think, because of my age, my body aches a lot, the last year has been very difficult. I have had both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination, thanks to the support of Lepra in my area. The whole process only took around 3 hours, and I feel fine afterwards. I am no longer afraid that I will get COVID-19.”
