Two years ago, he developed an ulcer on his foot, he visited many doctors, but none diagnosed leprosy. His disease progressed rapidly, and he was soon unable to walk or maintain work, leading to financial hardship for his family.
A community resource officer noticed his ulcer and brought him to a Lepra Referral Centre, where he was diagnosed and prescribed a 12-month course of multidrug therapy (MDT).
With ongoing care and support from Lepra, his ulcer significantly improved, enabling him to walk again and resume work.
Binoy is married and has two daughters; the second was born after his diagnosis. Binoy is grateful to his family, neighbours and healthcare workers for their help with his recovery.
“Go to a proper place for treatment. Don’t be afraid.”
