Our current appeal ‘£1 from you, we get two!’ has reached the halfway point!

We are delighted to announce we have reached our half way target of £50,000 but we are aiming to achieve our goal of £100,000!

We encourage you to keep giving as we are able to double donations until the 28th October, meaning we can help twice the amount of people.

Over half of people with newly diagnosed cases of leprosy and lymphatic filariasis develop anxiety and depression.

This is where our Mental Motivators project can help provide an important service to improve the mental health and quality of life for up to 10,000 families. You can read more about our Mental Motivators Project here:

Mental health matters

''Mental health issues were there already, but since last year we have started to really look at it and we found that there are many cases of people with anxiety attacks and depression due to stigma and rejection. I am very confident that together we will beat leprosy.''

Our Lepra Annual Figures:

With your support we can make a real difference to the lives of people affected by leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF). Just take a look at some of the figures shown below from our annual figures, these figures highlight our impact in helping people affected by leprosy and LF.

In the past year we have been able to train up 13,514 additional government health staff and 16,465 health care workers, volunteers, doctors, accredited social health activists and teachers. This directly provides much needed care and support to the people affected by leprosy, as the training helps to broaden knowledge of leprosy and how to really help those affected through diagnosis, treatment and ultimately helping to cure people of leprosy.

Additionally, we have diagnosed and helped to treat 41,869 new cases of LF this year, which is more than double the previous year.

Leprosy is curable and that is why we need to make sure we are always striving to attain our goal of making leprosy a disease of little consequence. Every life matters, children, women and men.

Our fight to beat leprosy will continue until we have reached our goal of eradicating the disease. We want to allow people affected by leprosy and LF to return to their happy and healthy lives.

All you need to do is make sure to donate whatever you can before the 28th October and your gift could be match funded with pledge donations, meaning we can help twice as many people.
