The occasion allowed us to thank our most valued supporters and champions and celebrate the difference we have all made over the last 100 years to the lives of people affected by leprosy and lymphatic filariasis.
St James’s Palace started life as a leprosy hospital and our guests met with the 'Senior Page of the Chambers' who talked about St James's fascinating history, and described how people affected by leprosy were sent to pray with the monks who ran the hospital.
We are incredibly grateful to our Vice President, HRH The Duke of Gloucester who spent so much time with our guests, taking a keen interest in their connection to the organisation.
Following an introduction from our Chair of Trustees, Mrs Suzanne McCarthy, The Duke of Gloucester spoke about the impact of Lepra’s work over the past century.
Lepra CEO, Jimmy Innes spoke about the development of a new and ambitious global strategy, which sets an exciting new path for the next six years.
The afternoon provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our past achievements and to share our vision for the future.
