A New Face for Leprosy - in their words

3 October 2024

Created by Professor Diana Lockwood and photographer Tom Bradley, the ‘New Face for Leprosy’ exhibition is a thought-provoking series of portraits and real-life stories, celebrating the lives of people affected by leprosy and challenging the myths surrounding NTDs.

We spoke to Tom, in September, who explained how using polaroids has become an integral part of his work process. By printing off a photo on the spot, the participant is able to see and handle their image and express their thoughts by writing over it. This person-centred approach aligns with Lepra's aim to empower communities and involve them in every aspect of their care.
