We are exceptionally grateful for our recent gift of £2,500 from The Patron’s Fund in association with our Patron, Her Majesty the Queen.

The Queen has been our Royal Patron since 1952 and the gift acknowledges our work Our Royal Patron, Her Majesty The Queento improve the lives of people living with leprosy in India, Bangladesh and Mozambique in addition to our efforts in tackling neglected diseases and associated issues such as poverty and prejudice.

The gift was derived from donations from individual donors to a range of organisations, including; businesses, schools and community groups. Proceeds from The Patron's lunch, which we attended in June 2016 as part of The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations was also shared equally between 300 other successful applicants.

Geoff Prescott, our Chief Executive comments:

“We are exceptionally grateful to receive a charitable gift from The Patron’s Fund in association with our Patron, Her Majesty the Queen. The Queen’s patronage is very important to us and her direct connections to people with leprosy have helped our charity to break down some of the stigma relating to diseases like leprosy. This gift will help us to continue our work in India, Bangladesh and Mozambique to help diagnose those with the disease and tackle poverty and prejudice. ”
