Virtual Cycle - Edinburgh to St Andrews

Date: 1 JUNE 2020

Location: Your choice

Registration fee: Free

The Lepra Edinburgh to St Andrews bike ride is usually a firm calendar fixture each year, and was set to take place on June 16th. However, this year we have had to postpone due to COVID-19. So we’re taking it virtual.

68 miles, on a bike, your way, from the comfort of your own locality. Do it on your own, or tag team your family members in, the choice is yours. You’ll have a fundraising target of £68, £1 for every mile. Once the 68 miles is complete, you and your team are virtual E to A Finishers, with a digital certificate to prove it!

How do I get started?

Decide if you will be doing this alone or in a team, and if you’ll do it all in one go or staggered across a timeframe. Then follow these 5 easy steps:

  1. Sign up to the challenge by emailing your name/team name and timeframe to events@lepra.org.uk
  2. Set up a fundraising page on JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving and share with your friends and family
  3. Take lots of photos across your journey, share them on social media, tag Lepra and #LepraEtoAVirtual #BeatLeprosy
  4. Send us your evidence to events@lepra.org.uk (e.g. screenshot of strava/bike machine distance)
  5. We send you your digital certificate by email – you’ve done something amazing!

Want to try the actual route?

Download the googlemap route here. Please email events@lepra.org.uk for the GPX route.

How will my fundraising help?

Your fundraising will make a huge difference to someone’s life. £68 can pay for a child to receive support through their leprosy diagnosis, enabling them to remain in school.

Good luck and see you 'there'!
