We are recruiting for a highly organised, ambitious and resourceful Communications and Social Media Lead to join our team here in Colchester with a remit to increase the impact of Lepra through communications and social media, building trust with our audiences to develop support and generate income.

Using an integrated approach you will develop Lepra’s communications, both on and offline, to raise awareness of the charity, thus increasing Lepra’s profile and reach.

You will have experience securing media opportunities and enjoy creating powerful stories, both written and visual, to inspire and engage audiences and support the fundraising team working towards meeting stretching unrestricted income targets.

With support from our Marketing and Communications Manager your key objectives will be to:

• Build awareness of Lepra among the general public in the UK
• Develop communications that support fundraising, marketing and news opportunities across the organisation, including overseas liaison
• Use communications techniques/toolkit to reach audience of 1-2 million each month with key messages which will drive donations and support
• Support fundraising campaigns and activities – providing collateral and support to achieve ROI targets
• Be responsible for communications functions, on and offline, producing and advising on content and copy and ensuring compliance and legality (DMA, ASA etc.)

This post is full-time, 35 hours per week and is based in our Colchester office. There will be a requirement to attend out of hours events in the evening or the weekend. The ability to travel in the UK (and occasionally overseas) is required.
