Job Description


This role will assist in the development of our education strategy, providing a professional level of contact and response to drive unrestricted income generation and increase Lepra’s profile across the education sector.

  • Partnerships Manager

Main Responsibilities

The primary function of the role is to:

  • Responsible for engaging, inspiring, and developing a new demographic of supporters across the education sector alongside the retention of an existing and loyal supporter base
  • Refresh and expand Lepra’s bank of education material, with a specific focus on links to the KS2 and KS3 curriculum
  • Work closely with colleagues in India and Bangladesh to develop a “buddy” programme
  • Achieve an annual unrestricted income target

Key Objectives

  • Devise and deliver relevant educational stewardship and engagement programmes, including an education specific communication plan
  • Enhance the schools landing page on the Lepra website, updating it with information and downloadable materials to support remote appeals
  • Maximise fundraising opportunities using Lepra’s marketing collateral including the development of a termly school newsletter
  • Working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to develop and train a bank of school volunteers
  • Increase the number of educational ambassadors to champion the work of Lepra and promote our relationship with schools at key events and to key audiences
  • Strong, positive, and lasting fundraising relationships will be nurtured
  • Income will be raised in an ethical way and from ethical sources
  • Develop the use of Advantage (CRM) to support donor care, analytics and reporting and support the acquisition of new donors
  • Work collaboratively across all departments

Key Tasks

  • The role will involve managing a pipeline of schools, negotiating, and booking remote appeals, through to thank you follow ups to ensure all contact with Lepra is a positive and inspiring experience
  • Designing and delivering remote presentations in line with Lepra’s branding guidelines
  • Use of appeals literature to maximise fundraising opportunities
  • To record all approaches and their outcomes on Advantage (CRM)
  • Working with other the CRM Lead and Director of Resources to ensure that all information is GDPR compliant
  • To undertake such other activities necessary to achieve the overall purpose of the role

Person Specification

Qualifications and training


  • Chartered Institute of Fundraising, Certificate in Fundraising


  • Managing a strong pipeline via telephone, remote, or face to face negotiations to generate fundraising income
  • Demonstrable experience of developing meaningful, lasting, and positive relationships to inspire and motivate supporters on a consistent basis
  • Strong problem-solving ability and confidence to bring in new ideas and drive them forward
  • Strong customer care practices
  • Appropriate use of CRM databases, processing of information and maintaining records
  • Experience of recording accurate donor data, analysis, and monitoring to improve performance


  • Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills with cross cultural sensitivity
  • Experience of public speaking and presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to organise time effectively, prioritising workload, meeting deadlines and maintain effective administration systems
  • Competent research and IT skills including Microsoft applications and CRM databases
  • Awareness and understanding of trends, legislation and Chartered Institute of Fundraising best practice and guidance in relation to fundraising
  • Ability to analyse and act on data
  • A keen interest in the digital environment and an ability to identify relevant innovation

Further information

This post can be home or office based, preferably 4-5 days (28-35 hours) 

There may be a requirement to attend out of hours events.  The ability to travel in the UK (and occasionally overseas) is required.
