You can help vital research continue to help more people receive the treatment and care they need

In 1996, the BBC children's TV programme, Blue Peter, chose Lepra as their annual TV appeal. Viewers held "Bring and Buy" sales across the country and raised over £2.8 million for people affected by leprosy - one of the most successful Blue Peter appeals of all time!

Along with funding projects and new off-road vehicles, this amazing total allowed us to construct our Blue Peter Public Health and Research center (BPHRC).

Since opening, this centre has conducted extensive research to improve leprosy treatment and helped us treat and support almost 4 million people!

Please help us continue this vital work

Conducting life-changing research, treatment and community outreach

One of the many people the centre has helped is Jabbar. Thanks to a BPHRC community awareness campaign, Jabbar recognised his symptoms and visited BPHRC for diagnosis and treatment.

This is Jabbar today, 18 years after is diagnosis - thanks to BPHRC he has no disabilities and lives a life free from the disease.

You can help us continue this life-changing legacy

In October 2018, Blue Peter celebrated its 60th birthday, and to mark this occasion and celebrate our TV appeal we are hoping to raise another £2.8 million!

This will help fund the vital research at BPHRC centre and help us to continue to support people in India, Bangladesh and Mozambique.

**Appeal update**

To help kick-start our appeal, we received pledges to allow us to match the first £50,400 donated between 24th Sept- 24th Oct.

Thanks to the amazing support of donors like you, this target was reached by the deadline, meaning this has been doubled to £100,800!

However, there is still a long way to go to hit our £2.8million target which will help us to continue our vital research and allow us to continue all of our projects in India, Bangladesh and Mozambique.

Whatever you can give will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by leprosy.
