The month of May means that there is a new issue of Lepra News for you to read!

Since we don’t want any of you to miss out, this blog will share an overview of what you can expect to see.

We’ve extended the Lepra family!

We’re very excited to announce two new additions to our team.

At the start of 2017, we welcomed our new Chief Executive, Geoff Prescott. We are also delighted that Fiona Duby OBE has agreed to become ambassador for Lepra! She will join Victoria Hislop in raising awareness of leprosy.

A new method to find leprosy cases

Did you know that it’s estimated that 3 million people are living with undiagnosed leprosy? We believe that to help beat leprosy, we need to actively find and treat these people using our pioneering new active case finding programme.

The aim of the method is to find more people before leprosy leads to disability, poverty, prejudice and more infection.

One family we helped is the Manjhi’s – a family of four who have each been affected by leprosy. They have all been treated and they are now able to recognise the symptoms in the future.

Support more people like the Manjhi's

You can help even more people living with undiagnosed leprosy.

Over to you!

The last few pages of Lepra News are dedicated to our supporters and the fabulously creative fundraising activities they have been getting involved with.

We are all very moved by their mountain-climbing, trampoline-bouncing, poetry-writing, and uninterrupted three-hour cycling efforts!

You can also read about Pavers, the York-based comfort shoe retailer who have funded our first mobile shoe van.
You can also find out about some exciting events that are coming up over the next couple of months! From a medieval pilgramige in Kent to two cycle rides that you can sign up for!
