Last Sunday (24th April 2016), four of our amazing fundraisers dusted off their trainers and stretched out their limbs ready to run the London Marathon on behalf of Lepra.

Deb running the London marathon for LepraDeb, a first time marathon runner had set herself the target of completing the 26 mile run in 6 hours. With a foot injury this was a pretty tough target but to achieve but through sheer determination Deb crossed the finish line in only 5 hours 39 minutes!

She said:

I had the time of my life. I felt really low and nervous because of my foot injury and doubted it would allow me to finish the course. But on the day, despite the pain the sheer determination from me but mainly the brilliance of the crowd pulled me through.

Tom running the London Marathon for LepraTom is a serial marathon runner and this was his 5th time running for Lepra. His goal was to complete the Brighton Marathon and the London Marathon with a combined time of 7 hours. He managed to do this with 40 minutes to spare, completing the Brighton Marathon in 3 hours 2 minutes and the London Marathon in 3 hours 18 minutes!

Hannah running the London marathon for LepraCompleting the London Marathon has always been one to cross off on Hannah’s bucket list and she was really keen to do this for Lepra. Finishing on 3 hours and 46 minutes Hannah said:

It was the most amazing experience, exciting and emotional and wonderful running for such a fantastic charity!

Simon running the London Marathon for LepraAnd finally, Simon managed to complete the marathon in 4 hours and 30 minutes, and raised £2,500 in doing so!
