News Leave no one behind: we need a global indicator We are committed to collaboration with other organisations to combat neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). As a member of the NTD Non-governmental Development Organization Network (NNN) we fully support the push for a global indicator for NTDs in Sustainable Development Goal 3: ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. At the sixth annual meeting in September 2015, we declared our support for the indicator, along with all of the other 39 members. http://www.ntdngdonetwork.org/news-events/news/abu-dhabi-declaration More than 1.4 billion of the world’s poorest people are affected by NTDs, including 500 million children. Working on the ground in Bangladesh, India and Mozambique, we can reach some of the world’s most underserved populations. Our integrated approaches work to prevent, treat and manage the consequences of diseases which affect the poorest and most vulnerable people. Prevention activities include our WASH programmes, prevention of disability and management of the consequences of disease. Community-based rehabilitation is a key component of the continuum of care for every individual and we work to reduce the stigma of disease through health education and awareness in villages and schools.
