Nick became Head of Finance and Support Services in August 2018

After graduating in Chemistry from Oxford, his early career encompassed IT, finance, audit and compliance roles in the retail, financial services and gaming industries. During this time his work took him to Malawi, Kenya, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Russia and Singapore and also included being called as an expert witness on money laundering in the gambling industry. He qualified as an accountant in 1991.

More recently he was Head of Audit & Risk Management at Leonard Cheshire Disability for four years and joined Lepra after four years as a director of KCG, a risk and audit consultancy specializing in higher education. His responsibilities included being the Head of Internal Audit for LSHTM, as well as leading KCG’s IT and data analytics practices. He has held a number of trustee roles, including Chair of Parkhaven Trust and Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee at Camphill Village Trust. He continues to act as a co-opted member of the Audit & Risk Committees for City University, London and for Camphill Village Trust and is a trustee of a local carers’ support charity which he helped to set up.

Nick lives in Colchester and away from work, continues a lifetime of playing and watching rugby by coaching young players and enjoys reading, being one of the few male members of a large and successful book group in Colchester.
