Michael joined the Board of Trustees at Lepra at the start of 2017. Michael has been a professional fundraiser for over 16 years in the UK and international charity sectors. Since 2012, he has been at the national UK children's charity, the NSPCC, where he is currently the Head of Supporter Management. Previously, his roles at the charity have included leading a multi-functional philanthropy team; and leading a cross-organisational anniverary campaign in support of Childline’s development.

Michael's has specialised in high value philanthropy, senior relationship management and institutional fundraising. His career experience includes child protection at the NSPCC; international microfinance with the MicroLoan; older people’s services with Independent Age; and voluntary education projects in London, South Africa and Cameroon.

Michael is originally from Birkenhead on Merseyside and lives with his wife in London. Academically he is an alumnus of the University of Newcastle (History); the Institute of Fundraising (Fundraising Management); and the Open University (International Development & Business Innovation). He is also an alumnus of the Windsor Leadership Trust. When not working he enjoys many sports, cooking, music and travelling.
