Michael Adler is the Emeritus Professor of Genitourinary Medicine/Sexually Transmitted Diseases at University College London Medical School.  His main research interests are in the field of epidemiology, with particular interest in the development of models of care and control programmes. 

He lends his expertise as an advisor to the British Government, the World Health Organization, the United Nations and the European Commission. Michael also has considerable experience working in the developing world and has carried out consultancies in Africa, India, Bosnia, China and Malawi.

He has had a longstanding involvement with the voluntary sector, and was Chairman of the National AIDS Trust from 1991-2000. He also acted as a specialist advisor to the House of Commons Health Select Committee and was seconded to the Department of Health to design and co-ordinate a national strategy for sexual health and HIV.
