Heritage Open Days is England’s largest cultural festival, taking place annually in September.

Heritage Open Days is part of the European Open days initiate and is supported by the National Trust and players of the Peoples’ Postcode Lottery. Over 5,500 events take place across 13th – 22nd September.

The Lepra Museum will be open to the public for the day, which is located in our head office in Colchester.

Representatives and volunteers of Lepra will be there to answer questions and show you Lepra films from both the archive and from more recent footage, and specific programmes overseas that have helped change so many lives.

This an insightful opportunity to give people the chance to find out more knowledge about leprosy and the work that Lepra has achieved over the years. Such as helping those suffering with leprosy to be diagnosed, treated, and ultimately to return to leading healthy and happy lives.

We welcome those in the local and surrounding communities to come in and find out more information about Lepra's history, the lives we've changed and our plans for the future.
